The life of the late R&B star James Brown is coming to the big screen in the new biopic Get On Up.

Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is one of the film's producers.  He says the movie gives a full picture of the legendary Godfather of Soul, beyond his childhood and rise to fame.

Chadwick Boseman stars as Brown in Get On Up.  He recreates the singer's looks and moves for the camera, making what co-star Octavia Spencer says is an amazing transformation into the role.  Spencer plays the part of Brown's Aunt Honey, while Viola Davis portrays James' mother, Susie Brown.

The cast also includes Dan Aykroyd, Nelsan Ellis, Keith Robinson.  Oscar winner Brian Grazer and The Help's Tate Taylor -- who also directed the film -- join Jagger as producers.  Get On Up is rated PG-13.  The movie opens in theaters on Friday.
